As authors we have all felt the growing pains of sluggish escalation to a range of notability and recognition on the grand stage of the world audience. So many of the years we have spent trying to get noticed when we first began, was having to find all the tools and networking the connections that we have. The average author takes a range of 5 to 20 years to really break into the business on a scale where they are even remotely known. While that is going on, a reader somewhere in the world is being robbed of their next favorite author they don't even know exists. This is no less painful to writers than a stab to the heart.
Meanwhile, publishers are not only picky in who they take on under their label, but they are asking thousands of dollars up front to publish the novel of a new author that is more than likely, barely getting by. That is why many of us thanks to the internet, have opted for self publishing, which means we have to work extra hard to gain a fan base. Agents, are no different. These industry professionals may be professionals because they are good at what they do, but they are inconsiderate to the plight of a starving artist. Which is where Luminary Literature comes in. Luminary Literature was designed as an avenue for aspiring, inexperienced and even novice level authors struggling in any aspect of their career. It's a means to fast track new authors into the market using the experience, resources and talents of experienced authors that partner with Luminary Literature voluntarily. It is in essence, a mentoring program that will drastically condense down the amount of time it will take a new author to receive attention. Of course, this is also dependent on their level of talent as well. We can't take mud and make it gold. But we can link a new author with resources we ourselves already use and are aware of. However, their level of success is still on their own shoulders, talent wise. Outside of editing, we as an organization won't have an opinion on the writer's story and content. That is their responsibility. What we can help with, is, self publishing help, editing sources, book cover sources, marketing tips and over all mentoring of showing each of our apprentices the ins and outs of the business. Every new author that seeks out our help, would be given a customized plan based on their needs, wants, strengths and weaknesses and then matched accordingly to a mentor author. As an added bonus, all authors either mentor or apprentice through Luminary Literature will receive free advertisement for themselves and their work from us as a thank you for joining our cause. Let me also add, that all interactions between the organization and the new author will be internet based, or through phone calls. But nonetheless, a step in the right direction toward the career you want as an esteemed author. We will launch this program in the near future but if you want to sign up to become a mentor, or are a new author that wants to sign up with Luminary Literature, you can contact me through the contact page on this site, or through Facebook via the Facebook link shown on the front page to reserve a spot. Opening spots for both will be limited. I will get back with you as quickly as I can.
